MODERN DAY LOVE STORY

Modern Day Love Story by Matt Rosanski. University of the Arts. 2016

For this production, I had the privilege of Music Directing this new musical! The process was treated very much like a devised process. Matt Rosanski directed and wrote the script. Script was completed by first day of rehearsal. From there, I guided the actors in writing a full score (music and lyrics!) for the show. Most of the songs were written as lead sheets, with lyrics and chord notations. From there, I worked on expanding the arrangements for our band (Keys, Guitar/Bass, and Drums). It was a crazy process but I’m really proud with how it turned out. Below are some music samples from the show, taken from a sound board recording of one of the performances. The Acapella piece was one that I arranged with the actors. It served as an Overture of sorts for the production.
